John: Hey, I heard you went on a nice test drive the other day.
Mark: Yeah, I did.
John: What kind of car did you drive?
Mark: Oh, it was a Ferrari 355.
John: Oh, no kidding?
Mark: Yeah, nice.
John: Have you ever driven one of those before?
Mark: No, never. It was the first time.
John: How did you get that hooked up?
Mark: Oh, my girlfriend rules.
John: So, she set it up for you?
Mark: Yeah, she did.
John: Was the car pretty fast?
Mark: Oh, it was unbelievably fast.
John: Where did you take it?
Mark: You know, we got on the freeway going south towards Escondido, and then took some back roads back into Portland.
John: So, did the guy let you really open it up or what?
Mark: Yeah he did. He was really, really cool. I guess the last time he was in that car, somebody took him on a test drive, they ended up doing about a hundred and sixty miles an hour.
John: What’d you do?
Mark: Uh, not that fast.
John: So are you thinking about buying one?
Mark: Yeah, any day. I’ve just got to come up with, uh, about a hundred grand.

Are you as jealous as I am? I have always wanted to try driving a car like that. Maybe someday I will be lucky enough.
Mark could drive the Ferrari because he was doing a “test drive.” When you want to buy a car, usually the salesman will let you drive it first. Mark doesn’t really have the money to buy the car, but the salesman thought he did.
What’s the coolest car you’ve ever driven? Mine is a Mercedes from the 1920’s. Share your stories on the Life Goes On message board. Talk to you soon!
