Hi Friends!
Valentine’s Day is coming up! The special day is February 14th. It is the most romantic time of the year for couples, so if you have a boy/girlfriend you better be ready to do something fun with your sweetheart.
Beth and Josh recently discussed their plans for V-Day. They have very different opinions about how to celebrate. Listen in to their conversation to learn more.

Beth: So Josh, do you have anything special planned for Valentine’s Day?
Josh: No. Not really. I guess I’m, uh, boycotting Valentines Day.
Beth: Why? It’s such a great holiday!
Josh: I just feel like it’s made up so that, you know the, I don’t know, the chocolate companies and the greeting card companies – they can make a lot of money and, uh, take advantage of us.
Beth: What about Cupid and romance?
Josh: I’m all for romance. I just want to do it on my own terms, you know. Why? What are your big plans?
Beth: I don’t have big plans. I just, I get into the holiday. I think it’s pretty cool to, uh, do something special for the one you love.
Josh: So, are you going out to dinner? Are you goin’ on, uh, a vacation? I mean, what are you, what are doing for your Valentine’s?
Beth: I haven’t figured it out yet but I’m sure it will be special.

Discussion
Sounds like Josh doesn’t like Valentine’s Day. He has a very negative attitude towards it. Beth on the other hand sounds really excited. She’ll probably spend the day doing something nice with her husband.
It’s not surprising that Josh and Beth feel differently about Valentines Day. Women are often more romantic than men. In fact, 85% of all Valentine’s gifts are bought by women – proving that they are generally more interested in the Valentine’s tradition.
I know I’m going to celebrate Valentine’s Day, no matter what Josh thinks!
Have a great week!
