Hello!
For many people who have, it’s important to give to those who have not. Giving to those in need is charity and it’s a great way to spend time, energy and money. Not only does it help the people who need it, but it gives joy and fulfillment to the giver.
I recently took part in a special charity event in Portland, Oregon. Listen in to my conversation with Miguel to learn more about it.

Miguel:  Hey Beth, what are you doing tonight?

Beth:  I’m actually going to a very fun fundraiser for children. It’s called Bowling for Kid’s Sake.

Miguel:  That sounds interesting. So, are there kids involved? Or how does it relate to kids?

Beth:  Well, it’s for an organization called Big Brothers Big Sisters and there’s a local chapter that’s throwing this event. And, it’s basically a fun evening of bowling, or it’s actually a whole weekend of bowling, and you can participate on a team. And all the money that goes towards the event will be for this children’s fund.

Miguel:  Oh, I see. So, by bowling, are you… how are you giving money to the kids? Or is someone else giving money because you’re bowling? How does that work?

Beth:  Well, everyone who bowls has to pay a certain amount and the money goes towards helping younger kids find appropriate mentors.

Miguel:  Have you done it before? Or is this the first time?

Beth:  This is the first time, but I have bowled before.

Miguel:  Well, it sounds like quite an exciting event. Maybe I’ll try to get involved next year.
