Each day of the week has its own attitude. Friday is fun, Saturday is busy and Sunday is relaxing. For many people, Monday is the worst day of the week. It’s the day you have to go back to work or school after the weekend. And on Monday, you have five long days to get through before Saturday comes around again.

But not everyone hates Mondays. For some, each Monday is a fresh start. It’s a chance to kick the week off right. Find out how Jeff and Devan feel about Mondays.

Devan

Jeff: I had the worst day today.

Devan: Yeah? You have a case of the Mondays?

Jeff: You could put it that way, big time.

Devan: What happened? It was just a boring day at the office? Were you busy from work that got backed up over the weekend, or…?

Jeff: I just feel kind of down in general. It’s a long week ahead.

Devan: So you’ve got the blues at the beginning of the week, it sounds like.

Jeff: Oh yeah. The Monday blues.

Devan: Is it just that you know that it’s gonna be a long time before you have a day off again, or do they just typically seem to be a harder workday for you?

Jeff: Both of those things, really. But a lot of the time I’ll really exert myself over the weekend, and make myself real tired ‘cause I want to pack in as much fun as possible. So I think that’s the largest part of it. How are you feeling today?

Devan: I agree with you. I think that working a nine to five job, you kind of get caught in the daily grind, and it can be a little disheartening at times. I definitely feel the Monday blues myself.

Jeff had a bad day. It’s Monday, his least favorite day of the week. Devan thinks he has a case of the Mondays.

Jeff often feels blue at the beginning of the week. He is tired from the weekend and busy at work. It will be a long time before he will have another day off.

Devan agrees that Mondays can be depressing. Looking ahead to the long work week sometimes makes her feel down as well.

Monday is the start day of the week.but I would like to spend the very lazy weekend with family .Sometimes I feel some difficulty to have very quick start in Sunday.Because The monday will be following up,I should be ready to next week round.

I think a bit differently about Mondays. I don’t consider it as a blue day. Unlike I see it as the sign of the coming weekend, because once you get started, the end comes. It all comes from starting and if you focus on the juicy consequence that you will get in the end, you accelerate your paces. Therefore, I think of Friday night, with a cup of coffee on my favorite sofa and enjoying the silence of the night with the thought of the coming weekend in my mind. It feels good! Consequently, my advice is to imagine Friday night on Monday and the weekend. Don’t think of the hard work of the week. Just focus on Friday night and the fun activities you will be doing on the weekend.

yeap,I agree this lesson but evevthough we don`t like Monday ,we had to go to work, school .For me i like Saturday because saturday is before sunday .Sunday is Holiday ,Right.

In China Monday is a new beginning of the week. And I feel down on Mondays too. I work in a school. My school has a national flag-raising ceremony every Monday. So I have to get up earlier. I like weekends. In our country there is a slang “The days are faster after Wednesday”. I think so. Great minds think alike.Ha-ha！

Even though my Monday is a day off, I prefer Fridays. It always brings an anticipation to a good weekend, some days off and new adventures. I don’t get tired during the week, I love my job, the people I work with, so all the other days are also good for me. But weekends are weekends. So, I look to Friday for something new, changing of the atmosphere and some trips. I can’t live without them.

In many of countries : Monday is the beginning of the week ( workweek )..i mean , Monday is when many people go back to work and children go back to school after the weekend. but In many Muslim countries Monday isn’t the beginning of the week , Saturday is the beginning of the week and Friday is the ending of the week (Friday is a weekly holiday ) ....

Usually , I fast on Monday ; because The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Deeds of people are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays. So I like that my actions be presented while I am fasting.’‘
For that reason I fast on Monday !
