Do you love watching movies at home? How about going to the theater? Many people prefer watching performances in front of a live audience. Going to see a production can be very exciting!

People love the intimate feel of a theater while watching an ensemble perform. Actors and directors put a lot of work into making a production compelling. Actors want to give an authentic performance, and people work behind the scenes to pick the right props and make the perfect costumes.

Jessica:  I am so excited I get to see a play next weekend!

Julie:  What production are you going to see?

Jessica:  I am seeing Rope, which is based on the Hitchcock film.

Julie:  Wow, I’ve seen the film and I love it. That would be such a great play.

Jessica:  I know. I’m really excited to see what they do with the set and all of the props because I know its very film noir. It’ll be interesting to see it on stage.

Julie:  So, I actually am a little ignorant. Perhaps, it actually originally was a play because the film has these long scenes. So, I bet it will be really compelling on stage because it’s just these really intimate conversations.

Jessica:  Exactly, and I am not as familiar with this cast. I try to see a lot of plays every year, and I’ve seen a lot of shows with this company, but it’s a different ensemble than they typically work with. It should be interesting to see a different group of actors on the stage.

Julie:  Well I bet they will make it very authentic. I can’t wait to hear about it!

Jessica:  I know I’m very excited.

I love theatre and eager to see a psychological thriller I’m going go these week. It’s a totally different atmosphere that theatre provides us. You feel like you’re a part of them and participate too if the acting is decent and screenplay is right. “The stage is make-believe” and if the actor will convince you pulling off a great performance, he/she’s a great actor. I hope theatre is not a dying Art in our computer generation society. It’s when you can talk, see face to face, touch the velvet of the fabric seats, enjoy the Victorian decoration. It’s all so authentic.
